Partnership progress, practical support, and community impact with Great Minds Skills Training Centre.

September 2025 Update

At Kunning Gambia, we are proud to be working in partnership with Great Minds Skills Training Centre. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering women and girls in Gunjur, Kombo South, The Gambia through practical skills, support, and opportunity.

Our partnership continues to strengthen the work we do in the community. By combining our resources and experience, we are able to create a more supportive environment for learning, personal development, and future opportunity.

“Empowering girls, one stitch at a time”

A Shared Commitment

Both Kunning Gambia and Great Minds Skills Training Centre are committed to helping women and girls build confidence, develop practical abilities, and access opportunities that can positively shape their future.

Through this collaboration, we are better placed to provide:

  • Skills training
  • Mentorship
  • Creative and practical development opportunities
  • A stronger support system for students

We are also exploring ways for volunteers to contribute their skills and talents in support of our students and future programmes.

Progress That Matters

Since joining forces, we have continued to make steady progress in creating a brighter future for women and girls in Gunjur and the surrounding area. Our work remains focused on building a safe, encouraging, and well-equipped environment where students can learn, create, and grow.

Thank You to Our Donors

We are especially grateful to the generous donors who supported us during the rainy season and helped us improve our centre.

Thanks to these contributions, we have been able to secure improved accommodation and workshop space, giving our students more room to learn and develop their skills. We have also been able to purchase additional equipment and materials to strengthen our training activities and expand our resources.

We would like to warmly acknowledge and thank:

  • Khadijah
  • Asaya
  • Cherelle
  • Khecia
  • Jean
  • Melanie, who donated on behalf of her father, Mr Joseph Emmanuel Payne

Your support has made a real difference and has helped us continue delivering meaningful training and support to women and girls in our community.

Looking Ahead

We are grateful for the continued support of Great Minds Skills Training Centre, our donors, and everyone who believes in this mission. We also extend our appreciation to Mr Dodou Barrow and Yafatou for their leadership, training, and commitment to organising sessions that benefit our students.

Together, we are making a meaningful difference, and we look forward to continuing this work in the months ahead.
